Question i just checked my bmi on your site n it indicata that i'm obese---- my bmi is 32.2 ------ what can i start to do to help myself -----
Alyse The only way to decrease your BMI is to lose weight. However, an elevated BMI is not an exact measurement of obesity or disease risk and having a high BMI does not always mean that you need to lose weight. Where you "carry" your weight and your percentage of fat mass versus muscle mass both need to be considered when evaluating your BMI. In fact, a better measurement of your weight-related disease risk is your waist-to-hip circumference (WHR). This is a measure of where you carry your weight. Those who have a lot of extra weight in the abdominal area are at greater risk. To test your WHR, go to the BMI section of this site to use the WHR calculator.
